The Phumzile’s House Clean Water Scheme has been completed, water is flowing and the food crops are growing!
The local community volunteers worked long and hard to successfully complete construction of this permanent clean water scheme. Funding and construction supervision were provided by MOSS Foundation.
The project comprises a small dam, sand filtration system, 2 tanks, about 1,350 metres of hand dug trenches and a food crop veggie garden to feed the children and help teach them to grow crops effectively. Many local orphans are among the 18 people that call Phumzile’s House their home. The new water scheme & community food garden are changing the lives of 26 people from 3 local families. Nutrition has improved significantly and the people no longer need to risk disease from drinking unclean water that pigs often swim in.
MOSS Foundation always needs more volunteers and supporters, so please contact us if you can help – or come along to our next fund raiser event. Our events are FUN and it’s so easy to make a difference!
